Beaten by a childrens book
So I cheated a little bit in the end with ‘The Warlock of Firetop mountain’, I really didn’t want to but the maze was literally driving me fucking nuts. I just flicked through to the page with the dragon, killed it easily as I had a special crafty spell and then ‘owned’ the warlock. ‘Now for my reward!’ I said to myself with glee as I approached the warlocks treasure chest. But no, I didn’t have the right keys did I. Fucking thing. So I gave up on that one and I’ve got no idea how kids ever got through that maze. I even drew maps as I went, my office floor was covered in insane scribblings that made no sense and when compared to proper maps that I found on the net looked completely frigging different!
So i’ve started the second fighting fantasy gamebook, ‘The citadel of chaos’…for the third time now, the two previous attempts ended with me falling down a pit to my death and pushed out of a tower by floating ghost heads, falling to my death again. Third time lucky eh?
Help! i’m stuck in firetop mountain!
I decided to get cracking with the Fighting Fantasy books last night and started with the first one ‘The warlock of firetop mountain’. All went well until I crossed the underground river and encountered Zagor’s maze which i am well and truly bloody stuck in. Three hours I was in this place last night and I woke up today and opened up the page which the pencil was saving for me and i’m still bloody stuck in it!
Somebody help me! i refuse to give up or cheat. Somebody send me a map! Pleeeease!

The quest for quests!
Remember the ‘Fighting Fantasy’ gamebooks from the 80′s and early 90′s? You know, these http://www.fightingfantasycollector.co.uk/book_covers.htm
Well i’ve decided that i’m going to hunt down the entire set of 59 books plus suppliments, a whole new bloody obsession.
So i’ve got three already, one gamebook, City of thieves:

The roleplaying supplimental:

And the classic guide to the fantasy setting of Titan:

So yesterday me and the girlfriend went on a quest to the local charity bookshop to see if we could wrangle some Fighting Fantasy from the wild shelves of the Oxfam bookstore and guess what? We hit a motherlode! No less than five Fighting fantasy gamebooks were sniffed out and claimed.
Temple of terror:

Demons of the deep:

The rings of kether:

Seas of blood:

Creature of havoc:

All in pretty good condition with unused adventure sheets!
My quest will continue though as I have many more to find. If you spot any wild FF books then use a net to catch em but be careful you dont want to hurt them!
The quest continues…
